The first thing any fan recognizes about the band is its remarkable and almost polite sense of consistency. That’s what makes even the relatively short wait between and the Austin, Texas, band’s excellent last album,, sting a bit. Sure, it’s hard to wait on new albums, but it’s harder still to wait on the closest thing indie rock has to a sure thing. That’s also what made it so hard to whittle down the group’s back catalog to 10 essential tracks. Trust us: We spent all weekend bickering over where we got it right and wrong nearly three years ago. The result is a list that saw some personal favorites fall away and some other songs climb aboard. And if our hot take on Hot Thoughts has any staying power, we’ll need to be updating this list all over again in the near future.

Choosing new songs is one of the most important tasks a band can face, especially if it’s a new group. It’s both important to choose modern hits to stay current, but also to respect classic hits that span the generations. As such We took a look at over 2500 wedding/party band set lists to find 100 of the most popular choices (see “The list” below). Sourcing new material can prove to be a difficult task. However, inspiration can come from many different sources – radio, TV shows, festival coverage or even (cheekily!) other band’s sets.

Popular Band Songs For Middle School
If you’re already a veteran of the function music scene, many of these songs will already be familiar to you, but perhaps there are one or two that you hadn’t thought of that might be worth a try. How they made it on to the list: We looked at the repertoire section on over 2500 bands, solo artists and other acts on the Last Minute Musicians Directory.
From that information, we picked out the most regularly occurring songs and organised them into two alphabetised lists. One for Pop/Rock, and one for Jazz and Classical. In order to make it on to the list, each song had to be mentioned at least 8 times. That may sound like a small number, but you try getting 2500 people (working in many, many different genres) to agree on what songs they are going to play!
