Managers will laugh and joke around with you but also be serious when needed. As with any restaurant you will have your great days and your painfully slow days. I wish they would have provided incentives to work the painfully slow shifts as no one wants to work a shift where they're barely making any tips and the majority of the time is spent doing side-work or standing around. I also wish there was more service support (like bussers or food runners) on crazy busy days but that isn't necessarily the fault of the company/management. There was also no real consequences (at least that I observed) for employees who were consistently late, complained excessively about side-work, skipped out on side-work, not helping out, etc. Management seemed to brush it off and not care.
If they were short-staffed and called you in to help out you usually got your meal on the house as a thank you. Also if you worked really hard and well on a difficult day, really went out of your way to be helpful, or volunteered to stay late you were usually rewarded. However, I wish they would've provided a free meal or some other incentive for those who worked shifts that were 9+ hours. Meals are 1/2 off unless you are in training or training a new hire, then they're free. There are no discounts if you come in on your day off to eat or play games.
You accumulate PTO hours over time even as a part-time hourly employee. Everyone is like extended family. Mon,Tues,Thurs-Chill, Diagnose and/or Fix games(play a few), do TuesdayTestDrive list, sometimes help around with odd jobs('fix this door'/Sudo AV for Event rooms) / Fri,Sat,Wed,sometimes Sun - Gonna work Hard, LOTS of walking, helping multiple guests at once, busing ALL drinks left in midway, cleaning blacktops&games from spills, running the VR. As a tech your basically considered a jack-of-all. I've cleaned bar dishes, ran Winners Circle, helped managers with projects, all while still taking radio calls. Gotta be a shark in this environment(gentle shark).
Techs are almost a separate world from the bar.wait/kitchen staff but we stay cohesive thru the hard times(and the drama). Always a good time to laugh, especially to keep team morale high. Don't come here to dilly around, this place is Serious-ly Fun.
